The New Magazine “Greenability”
Publisher Julie Koppen presented her magazine. Copies of the first issue were given out. The next issue, out in Nov., will feature an article on SSC. Julie is also featuring an effort by the Metropolitan Energy Center and Bridging the Gap on looking at sample homes in the area and how to make them more efficient. Questions included asking how we can as a group be most effective; and could we give a synopsis of what we hope to become.
SSC Survey
Carol Meyer and RoseTherese Huelsman reviewed the survey recently sent out to SSC members regarding each persons thoughts regarding the purpose, organizational structure, history, operational aspects, desired functions, and personal satisfaction of SSC. The results were mixed,
seemingly complex and appeared to be open to a variety of interpretations. The members were then asked to participate in working groups to strive toward better definition of various aspects of the organization, but the limitation of time did not allow RoseTherese to get well into the desired working lab efforts. The subject will continue at future meetings.
SSC Budget
Christine led a brief discussion on proposed budget of $900 for next year, with voluntary dues of $15 for members, plus other levels of participation by supporting organizations. No action taken. Terry asked the Finance Committee to come back with a proposal for contribution levels and a draft insert for brochures.
SSC/Yahoo Group
Bill Bergerson, who has formulated this, led the discussion. A motion was approved to continue to have a reply go to the total group, not just the addressee. Bill talked of the need to use more of the capabilities of the system, but felt to do this would require someone with greater expertise.
WEB SITE
Bill feels this should be redone. This topic was recommended to be added to the next meeting agenda.
